If you keep on walking down the path of Oia, you will
pass from the square of the village and the church of
Panayia Platsani and you will be leaded to one of the
islands northern points, in order to enjoy the view
to Thirasia and the famous sunset.
In Oia there are many shops, many galleries, small stores
selling hanmade goods of popular art, restaurants, cafeterias,
police department, banks and a very beautiful cultural
centre.
Under Oia is Ammoudi harbour. You can go to Ammoudi
by foot, walking down the steps, or with a car. Ammoudi
is a small harbour with a lot of taverns and fresh fish.
In the harbour there is a small beach with red and black
pebbles.
If you continue your way on foot, through a narrow path,
you will meet a rock in the sea not far away from the
main land, that is a special choice for swimming. On
the rock is built the small church of Ayios Nikolaos.
From Ammoudi you can go with a small boat to Thirasia
or you can visit the church Efta Pedes, which is built
in a rock in the internal side of Caldera.
