In the southeastern part of Santorini, but in big distance
from the Red Beach are also found the beaches of Perissa
and Perivolos.
Substantially it is an immense coast which in the southerners
is named Perivolos and in northern Perissa.
They are considered to be the best beaches of Santorini,
because of their clean waters and their beautiful sandy
beach. Next to the sea are many taverns, bars and restaurants.
Kamari
is north from Perissa and it is the beach that assembles
the most swimmers, mainly because of its small distance
from Fira and the great number of its lodgings. It is
the only beach in Santorini that has been honoured with
the Blue Flag of the European Union. In the beach of
Kamari,
during the summer season you will be guarded by lifesavers.
Stores, taverns, cafeterias and bars are many in Kamari,
too.
More north you will find, not that well known, beaches
for tourists that seek for peace. Monolithos is one
of the few beaches in the island with sand, while the
Columbos is the beach that froths the nudists. The landscape
in Columbos is impressive and wild. The rocks have special
forms and an enormous hill shade with its volume the
beach during the whole day.
