Andros is the
place for peaceful vacations. It is the second biggest island of
Cyclades, next to Naxos. It extends in 380 sq.km and its population
reaches almost 10,000 people. It is close to Tinos and Evia - approximately
7 naval miles. It combines numerous beaches with mountainous villages.
Moreover what is strange about Andros is the number of rivers that
run it through. This is not common for an island of its size. Finally
its exceptional climate, and the extraordinary beauties fascinate
the visitor.
The capital city of the island is Andros (also called
Hora), with the enchanting view of the small Aegean bays and the
imposing mansions of the Shipowners. It is the heart of all economic,

interest for the visitors in the towns and villages of Andros. Gavrio
with its natural beauties, Apoikia, Stenies, Messaria, Paleopoli
and the cosmopolitan Batsi are some of the most famous.
The

as well as its nautical progress.
In the Archaeological
Museum are kept artifacts of the Classical, Hellenistic, Roman,
Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Periods as well as signs and artifacts
of the Ottoman Domination Period.
The ruins
of the Venetian Castle which was constructed by Marinos Dandolos,
are situated in the entry of the harbour.
The house
and the statue of the philosopher Theofilos Kairis.

of Saint Peter in Paleopoli, is a monument of the Medieval Era.

Castle and the Spring of Sariza in which water is bottled for commercial
purpose, in Apoikia.
